FAQ’s

How does your video editing service stand out?

We pride ourselves on our ability to attract talented and experienced video editors, who deliver high-quality projects on time. We also value our customers’ involvement in the progression of movie drafts, and therefore encourage them to provide feedback through our user-friendly online collaboration system. In addition, given the volume of projects we’ve completed, we’re able to quote prices accurately before the project begins. And finally, to ensure customer satisfaction, payment is due only after the final version is approved!

How do you calculate the video price quote?

Our pricing model is based on the number of hours spent to make the movies. This figure is directly correlated to: the amount of raw material, the length of the final video, and number of editing iterations. Our broad range of experience allows us to provide an accurate price quote before the project begins, and to deliver high-quality videos on time at a predetermined price. To ensure customer satisfaction, payment is due only after the final version is approved!

What education and/or training do your video editors have that relate to their work?

Our professional video editors are film school graduates who majored in film, video production and other related topics. After school, they’ve worked with media companies, TV channels, and independent producers. And most importantly, they’re seasoned VideoTov editors aligned with our mission and are recipients of excellent customer feedback (we send a short survey after every project!).

What questions should I think through before describing my project to your professional editors?

(1) Ask yourself what is the goal of the video (e.g. capturing memories, documenting an event, celebrating a friend or family member, etc.).
(2) Consider the target audience (e.g. spouse, family and friends, school friends, etc.).
(3) Identify the source of the content (e.g. new content versus archived, own video clips versus others, etc.).
(4) Think of how you will share the movie (e.g. physically at a venue or house, or digitally through YouTube, Facebook, etc.).
Our editors specialize in storytelling; accordingly, they will discuss these questions with you during the project kick-off. They will listen to your thoughts and offer advice based on both your preferences and their experience.

Is it possible to share the draft videos with friends and family?

Absolutely. Besides publishing the video revisions on our collaboration platform (log-in required) to review the revisions and to provide feedback, we also make it available on Vimeo (video-sharing site). Our customers are welcome to share the password-protected link with their friends and family and ask for their feedback.

How do you select the background music?

The background music plays a major role in eliciting an emotional response from viewers. There are no strict rules for selecting the appropriate music, and customers have their own tastes. Before our editors start editing the video, they invite our customers to identify the music which they like the best, and when they’re unsure our editors will propose a few options.

Do you accept many video formats? What’s the format of the final video?
Our editors are using professional video-editing software applications that easily handle many types of video formats, including AVI (Microsoft’s), MOV (iPhones), AVCHD (Sony and Panasonic), MP4 (smartphones) and others. We deliver the finished product in MP4 format.

Can I mail you DVDs, SD cards or MiniDV tapes?

Sometimes your video files are available in DVDs, MiniDV tapes, or SD cards. Our editors need the digital files, so therefore you should extract the files from the DVDs or SD cards. If the files are on tapes, approach a local store which converts the files, or send them to us and we will use a local file conversion service provider (for an additional price based on the vendor’s rates).

Can you edit a video based on video clips generated by multiple camcorders?

Absolutely. Our editors will review all the video clips and consolidate the best shots.

Can you edit drone video clips?

Sure. We easily handle videos captured by drones. In fact, we enjoy it too!

Can you add “voice over?”

Absolutely. Our editors are happy to integrate post-production audio and video.

Can you add “stock videos” to the final video?

Sure. But we ask that the customer purchase the appropriate videos and share them with our editors along with the rest of the footage.

How do I upload my raw files?

First move the video files and photos from your iPhone, SD card or any other storing device to your computer. Then use Dropbox, Google Drive, and other similar cloud-based storage services. Sometimes your video files are available in DVDs or MiniDV tapes. Our editors need the digital files, so therefore you should extract the files from the DVDs. If the files are on tapes, approach a local store which converts the files, or send them to us and we will use a local file conversion service provider (for an additional price based on the vendor’s rates).

How do I collaborate with my video editor?

Our video editors guide customers from the moment they approach us. Initially, they review their customers’ goals, ask about the target audience, discuss different story boards, suggest the music which best fits the video and recommend the video length. Once the customers accept the proposed project, our video editors start the editing process and invite the customers to review the revisions and to provide feedback via our user-friendly collaboration system.

How long does it take to complete the movie?

We aim to complete our projects within 10 days to two weeks. However, if a customer has extreme time constraints, we can deliver the final movie within a week. To ensure we meet your outlined deadline, your video editor will provide you with a projected schedule in advance and will share the revisions accordingly.

How do I pay for the finished product?

Once you are 100% satisfied with the final revision, you will be able to access our secured payment system embedded in our collaboration system. We accept PayPal and all major credit cards.
